Australia’s largest credit union, CUA, celebrated the 70tth anniversary of its founding in 2017. To commemorate the milestone, CUA formed a history committee and then commissioned Ten Bag Press to help tell the story of those 70 years. Writer/publisher Adam McNicol combined with photographer Jaime Murcia to tell the tale of how 171 credit unions came together over seven decades to form today’s CUA. McNicol interviewed countless people who had played an important role in the CUA story, and they provided him with many engaging stories. Those words, along with some stunning portrait photography from Murcia, some brilliant material from the CUA archives and the ever-impressive design work of Phil Campbell, resulted in a book that was an instant hit with CUA’s many past and present employees and its 440,000 members. Copies of the book are available from CUA.
