The updated edition of The Mallee: A journey through north-west Victoria is now available.

This new version of our best-selling book features all the original stuff, plus pictures of Nandaly and Lalbert, two towns that were not included in the first edition.

The Nandaly Community Hotel, which has been reborn as a social enterprise, features prominently, while the Lalbert Primary School is featured among the Lalbert pages.

Extra pictures of Walpeup and Underbool have also been included.

The new Walpeup pictures highlight the disused research station on the edge of town, which was once a key player in the development of crops suited to the Mallee region.

There is also a beautiful picture of the restored facade of the Walpeup Memorial Hall and a new picture of the room at the back where a fabulous little museum is housed.

The new Underbool picture is a portrait of local legend Ray Gloster, who is aged in his mid-90s but still goes to work each day.
